Board Information... The board meets the second Thursday of each month. The meeting is open to the public. TIME: 8:00 p.m. If you have concerns or complaints/problems and wish to discuss them with the board at their monthly meeting you must contact us either by phone or email and inform us that you will be present and what your concerns or complaint/problems are, so we may put you on the agenda. The board secretary is in the office Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Directions •Using I95, north or south. Take Elkton exit. Drops you onto Route 279, go south, fourth traffic light make left onto Route 213. Sixth traffic light (intersection of 213 and 40) make left, proceed east on Route 40. At the sixth traffic light make right into the Upper Chesapeake Corporate Center. We are in the County Administration Building in the back on left side with the green roof. If you cross into Delaware you have gone too far. •Using Route 40 west coming from Delaware. Upper Chesapeake Corporate Center is the first traffic light you come to when you cross into Maryland from Delaware. Make a left at the traffic light and we are located in the Cecil County Administration Building in the back on the left side with the green roof. •Using Route 40, points west of Delaware. The Upper Chesapeake Corporate Center is the last traffic light before crossing into Delaware. Landmarks... the Elkton Wal-Mart is on the right, which is the last traffic light prior to the traffic light for the Upper Chesapeake Corporate Center. Turn right at the light and proceed to the County Administration Building in the back on the left side with the green roof. The board is authorized, empowered and directed to exercise, within the county, supervision and control over the conduct of electrical business including but not limited to the business of installing, replacing, erecting or relocating electric wires or conductors to be used for the transmission of electric current for electric light, heat, protection signaling or power purposes, or moulding, ducts, raceways or conduits for the reception or protections of such wires or conductors or to any electrical machinery, apparatus, devices or fixtures to be used for electric light, heat, protective signaling or power purposes upon or about buildings both permanent and temporary including but not limited to industrial buildings, mobile homes, carnivals, & outdoor assemblages. The board consists of five members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Cecil County. Three competent practical electricians who have been duly licensed in the county as master electricians for at least 3 consecutive years prior to appointment. One building contractor. One current or former fire chief of any recognized volunteer fire fompany in Cecil County or an employee of a major utility company furnishing electricity in Cecil County or a current or former deputy state fire marshal. All members shall be residents of the county for at least 3 years and registered voters prior to appointment and for the duration of their terms. Three members of the board shall constitute a quorum for purpose of doing business. The board shall adopt rules and regulations as required for examinations of electricians and for supervision and control of electrical business. The board shall have the right under the hand of their president to subpoena witnesses and compel their attendance, and also require the production of papers or documents in cases involving revocation of a licence or a charge of practicing or offering to practice without a license. |
